Venezia Santa Lucia railway station

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Santa Lucia Station (Stazione Ferroviaría Santa Lucia) is the only railway station on the island of Venice (Mestre station is on the other side of the Ponte Della Liberta (Freedom Bridge) on the mainland).

The station is a modern structure compared to all the more historical buildings surrounding it, and was built on the site of the Santa Lucia church from which its name derives from.

Just outside the station visitors catch the Vaporetto (public water bus) or can take a private taxi boat to venture onwards into Venice.
