Venados de Mazatlán (English: Mazatlán Deers) are a baseball team in the Mexican Pacific League. Based in the city of Mazatlán, the Venados enjoyed their greatest success in 2005, when they won the Caribbean World Series.


[edit] 2004-2005 Season

In this season the Venados of Mazatlán conquered their 7th title in the Mexican Pacific League. They also won their pass to the 2005 Caribbean World Series which was held at their home, the "Teodoro Mariscal" stadium in Mazatlan,Sinaloa,Mexico.

The Mexican National Baseball team (Venados de Mazatlan) made a great performance in the series, winning twice against the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Mexican team was conformed of many stars like Miguel Ojeda, Elmer Dessens , Luis Ayala, Jorge Campillo, Vinny Castilla, Erubiel Durazo, Johnny Gomes and Francisco Campos who beat Venezuela in the first game with a complete game shutout and the Dominican Republic in the 6th game and was named MVP (2-0 ERA 1.13, 16.0 IP, 23K).
