[edit] Lyrics to Passion's Killing Floor

What's up with the lyrics to Passion's killing floor?

[edit] Genre

I was wondering is there any official genre that we should classify this album in? It was said that it would be a metal/hard rock record though perhaps we should keep Alternative rock until the album is released

Well Alt Rock/Alt Metal I think is a good idea, since we do have some songs to listen to, to classify the album. From what I've heard I think it is a mix of Alt. Rock and Alt. Metal and that is what I am going to change the article to reflect. --NekoD 21:43, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

After having watched some footage from recent HIM concerts (and the MySpace concert of PR) I've decided that Alot of the new songs are VERY Progressive Rock, I am going to change the Genre on the article to reflect this --NekoD 18:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

We'll need to find sources to back up the genre of the album. It shouldn't be too hard considering the release date is becoming closer and closer by the minute. I'm going to look for interviews and such with the band where they discuss the style of the new album. Hopefully I'll find something that doesn't mention bands to describe the style but the genre itself. I've got a lot of googling to do :D AngelOfSadness talk 18:42, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
I thought you were going replace the genres with Progressive Rock until I saw the edit. We'll still need sources for the genres though as I'm sure someone is going to change that while everyone is asleep(Continues google search) AngelOfSadness talk 18:47, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
MM I almost added just Prog Rock but I'm afraid that with the main HIM article being officially declared Alt Rock it would be pointless to remove it...and kind of...misleading? Well not much longer, glad to see you are still with me Angel ;] --NekoD 18:50, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
No problemo :D AngelOfSadness talk 18:53, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
I found some sources stating the genre of Venus Doom but most of them aren't very good as they are mostly online shops selling the album(pre-order). But here's what I found so far anyway:
  1. Alternative: 12
  2. Goth Metal/Goth Metal/Rock: 3
I'll keep searching but most of the results are like the links above. AngelOfSadness talk 19:08, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I'm totally not going to use the Goth-X anything cause I think we have really established on wikipedia and in fans hearts that HIM is not goth in their music style....I don't think they are musically or lyrically. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NekoD (talkcontribs) 20:06, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
I thought the same with the Goth-X source but it's only one source. Another source said they were glam rock. I nearly fell of my chair when I saw that.:D AngelOfSadness talk 20:08, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Glam rock! *falls on floor and twitches* That may be because they did cover songs of KISS very early in thier career, but thats they only thing that comes to mind. Glam rock is what HIM is not. — Moe ε 01:44, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
That's exactly what I thought but someone, somewhere in this world thinks that their new album is glam rock unfortunately. Seeing as it's the view of one person, I think it would be better if we didn't include the bit about Glam rock in the article. It's the same thing as saying "Yes I would describe Crade of Filth as chillout". OK I doubt someone ever thought that but if I find a source proving me wrong I'll eat my coat. I'll try to re-find that Glam Rock link so everyone here can have a good laugh. AngelOfSadness talk 14:44, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Special Edition/LE Discs

Though the preorder site DOES say that the LE will come with a separate bonus disc, which we can assume is the same bonus disc as the SE, meaning it will have Dead Lovers Lane remix and Love in Cold Blood remix, it says Special disc with THREE songs....So the 3rd song is an unknown as of now, that is why I didn't take out the ** for the LE only song cause there is one, we just don't know what yet --NekoD 23:05, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Or someone can just go and add Bonus track 1-3.... whatever. --NekoD 05:32, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Venus Doom Created

Well I made the article, and I don't think I did anything horribly wrong or leave anything out but if I did miss anything feel free to fix it --NekoD 01:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Is it really appropriate to say the album is called Venus Doom? As far as I know it is only tentatively called that so far and I can't remember an official announcement about that. 89.240.201.131 18:49, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Thats true, yet at the same time Ville confirmed a release date at the same time so we really can't throw out one bit of knowledge without throwing out all the rest. But if it gets named something else im pretty sure we can contact moderators and get it deleted. --NekoD 07:39, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

True. I just thought it odd seeing as even the official forum wasn't taking to Venus Doom name too seriously: it doesn't even have its own section yet. 89.240.197.8 12:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

People. Doesnt matter what its called! Its out soon!! 64 days and counting! But.. yes, agreed. Both of you are right in my eyes. Though User... I think that if we were to put off everything that wasnt yet confirmed we'd have nothing to go by. But NekoD i think did a fabulous job!

[edit] International release

It says it's due out internationally on the 17th, yet it was released on the 15th in Puerto Rico. Explanation? Luisdile02 21:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Not every single release date has been included yet. You are more than welcome to put it in yourself as I did with the Irish release(New albums and singles are always released on a friday in Ireland). AngelOfSadness talk 21:18, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Ah, okay :) I just added it. Same thing happened with My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade, so maybe we usually get them early or something. Luisdile02 22:43, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Different countries have different release dates. The US is usually one of the last to get the album whereas some countries get it a week earlier(Like Poland was the first to get Evanescence's The Open Door eight days before the US date.) So I'm guessing Puerto Rico gets new albums on the Saturday before the American release(which is on a tuesday). AngelOfSadness talk 19:14, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
