Two things that need a follow-up here (and I wish I had the time to do so...).

1. The causeway was redesigned and replaced a few years ago, with a few design modifications at the insistence of the US Coast Guard, including raising the draft from 8 to 25 feet and changing the design of the railing to reduce the likelihood of trapping youngsters' heads; and

2. This is a toll road. Who owns and runs it, and what is the toll? B.Wind 18:40, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
