The Velvety Black-tyrant (Knipolegus nigerrimus) is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family. It is endemic to Brazil.
Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist montanes, and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.
