Vellore A. R. Srinivasan

Vellore A. R. Srinivasan (born 6 November 1962) is a Carnatic vocalist, percussionist and composer. He has performed under the auspices of several prestigious musical organisations, temples and educational institutions. He is an academician and a researcher in biochemistry. He received the Madras University topper award in M.Sc.Biochemistry (Faculty of Medicine) in the year 1987 and Ph.D., degree in Biochemistry from Mysore University in the year 2000.

He is working now as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Pondicherry. Srinivasan believes in full-throated singing and his vocal concerts are laden with gusto and verve. As a percussionist, he gives a creditable account of himself on the kanjira and morsing. He has accompanied several stalwarts on the kanjira and morsing, including Sri T.V.Sankaranarayanan, Madurai Sri T.N. Seshagopalan Trissur Sri V. Ramachandran Maharajapuram Sri S. Ramachandran and Neyveli Sri Santanagopalan

He has composed 700 songs that include keerthanas on many deities of the Hindu pantheon.
