Vellinezhi is a small village located in the Palakkad District of Kerala, India. It is located on the banks of the river Kunti. It is famous for the number of Chenda and Kathakali artists who were trained here.

It is one of the Pathinaalu Desam, and is home to Olappamanna Mana, one of the centuries-old feudal Namboothiri (Kerala Brahmin) Illam. Olappamanna was the abode of such luminaries as the late Kunchunny Nambudiripad on whom the title "Rao Bahadur" was awarded by the British, and more recently the renowned scholar, the late O M C Narayanan Nambudiripad (Rigveda Bhaasha Bhaashyam in Malayalam), the famous poet laureate Mahaakavi Subrahmanian Nambudiripad and the author Dr O M Anujan.

Famous temples at Vellinezhi are Sri Kanthaloor Kshetram and Chenginikottu Kavu.

It lies about 40 km from Palakkad town, and approximately 100 km from Nedumbassery international airport.

The heritage village vellinezhi is now slowly but steadly transforming to a city, the people who where rilated to the kadhakali etc. are now not so interested in it and they are finding new jobs.
