Vellave or Vellavu is a beautiful place within the state Kerala in India. You can see greenary all over the place with small hills, rivers and fields. Most of the people are farmers.

Vellave is situated on the bank of Vellave river. (commonly known as Kuppam River). On the north it is bounded by Mavicherry, on the south by Thalora, on the east by Nellipparamba, and on the west by Kuttyeri. Ezhukunnu is a beautiful hill station on the bank of vellave river. Taliparamba Rajarajeswara temple and thrichambaram Sreekrishna temple is very near to this place. The villagers are mainly engaged in agricultural works, beautiful paddy fields are another nice site on this country side.

This is the main co-operative banks in Kannur having three branches in and around Kuttyeri village.

One of the ancient and biggest temple in north Kerala of Lord Dakshinamoorthy. The idol is called "Swayamboo"

[edit] Sri Muchilottu Bhagagavathi Temple

Here the god is Muchilottu Bhagavathi. The main festival in this temple is 'Kaliyattam', which is celebrated in a period of 14 years. Last Kaliyattam was in the year 2001.
