For the brachiopod genus, see Vellamo (brachiopod).

In Finnish mythology, Vellamo is the goddess of the sea, the wife of Ahti. The name is derived from velloa, "to rock himself." She is sometimes described as "cold hearted". Along with Ahti, she dwells in the undersea palace of Ahtola. She is often pictured as a mermaid.

Also the name of a Finnish bottled water company. http://www.finewaters.com/Bottled_Water/Finl_/Vellamo.asp
