A 12" version is featured on the ZZ Top collection Chrome, Smoke & BBQ: The ZZ Top Box Set.
[edit] Music video
The music video for Velcro Fly features Egyptian hieroglyphics (possibly a reference to other songs from the album such as Sleeping Bag) and female dancers, a common theme in almost every ZZ Top music video. The video also has dance moves choreographed by pop singer and current American Idol judge Paula Abdul; the Texas trio also shows off their moves in a dance sequence, which will most likely garner a few laughs from fans.
The video was released on the DVD Greatest Hits: The Video Collection, along with other popular videos from this album 1983's Eliminator and 1990's Recycler.

The song's drum beat is alluded to in Stephen King's "The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands", where the one fraction of inhabitant of fictional city Lud uses reproduction system to periodically play a deafening recording of pounding drums. Character Eddie Dean, upon hearing those sounds, "God Drums", recognizes them as the drumbeat from "Velcro Fly".
