Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College or VRSEC was the first private institution to offer undergraduate education in engineering in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Named after the eminent industrialist and former Indian Civil Service (ICS) officer, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, it was founded in 1977 and has a good reputation in engineering education in Andhra Pradesh.

To impart high Quality technical education in order to mould the learners into globally competitive technocrats who are professionally deft, intellectually adept and socially responsible. The Institution strives to make the learners inculcate and imbibe pragmatic perception and pro-active nature so as to enable them to acquire a vision for exploration and an insight for advanced enquiry.

The institution is ideally located in a vast expanse of 40 acres of land on the out skirts of Vijayawada city at a distance of about 6 km from the city centre.
The teaching staff, totaling 170 at present, comprises well qualified professionals with varied experience and back-ground. The faculty members take interest in continuing education and are actively engaged in research work and publish their findings regularly in standard national and international journals. Some of the faculty members received awards for their publications.
Equipment-wise staff-wise, this institution is outstanding as opined by various Inspection Committees including an Expert Committee of All India Council for Technical Education (A .I. C. T. E). The National board of Accreditation awarded Accreditation grades for a period of 3 years, in respect of Mechanical Engineering with A grade; Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications Engineering with B grades.
The Institution of Engineers ( India ) recognized the courses offered by the college exempting the graduates of the college from Sec A and B of the Institution of Engineers.
