[edit] Josef Suk

Thanks for your additions. I just made a few corrections to make the English more idiomatic. Welcome to Wikipedia! Ksnow (talk) 11:36, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Ksnow

[edit] Václav Talich

Thanks for your note about Václav Talich. I have corrected some of the English that you had written, and also corrected the reference header. Your additions are nice. After I made my corrections, I must say that there are some things that we are not allowed to say on wikipedia, just as some examples.

  • With the accusations of collaboration, you said that these were "senseless". That is a very strong word in English, and we cannot use such words, however true that they are. You must simply say that "the charges were refuted", or something like that. You must also provide a citation.
  • You also called him the "most renowned" Czech conductor. Whilst lovers of Czech classical music know that Talich was very famous, we cannot say that he was "most renowned", because other people can say that about other conductors. It is difficult sometimes to choose just one such conductor, and that is why it is best not to use such words.

I think that you are a great admirer of Václav Talich, which is very understandable. The situation with wikipedia is that we must be objective when we work on articles, especially with people or subjects that we like. We cannot be "fans" and just write anything. Ideally, the wikipedia entry presents just the facts about a person or subject. Then it allows the people who read the article to come to their own conclusions and judgments. I hope that you enjoy your work here. DJRafe (talk) 00:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Janáček Quartet

Hi and thanks for your message. I will certainly take a look at the article for you. It's good having someone to contribute articles on Czech-related music.--Casadesus (talk) 03:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Are you interested in Czech opera?

The Opera Project have many articles on Czech operas. Perhaps you might like to help us develop them - and correct the accents! Regards. --Kleinzach (talk) 03:41, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Janáček corrections

Moc vám děkuju! I sincerely appreciate the corrections to List of compositions by Leoš Janáček as my Czech language skills are insufficient. I have also created composition lists for Josef Suk and Pavel Haas (and soon also for Smetana). I'm sure there are Czech language errors on those pages as well. If you have a chance to look them over sometime, it would be appreciated! Thank you also for you work on Janáček and others. Hrdinsky (talk) 02:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dvorak symphonies

Hi, Vejvančický; I really like your contributions to the third, fourth, and fifth Dvorak symphonies. Thanks. I don't see anything wrong with grammar.

However, please note that that the movements have been numbered with a "#" symbol. You don't need to add the numbers again to signify the movement. Please take a look at how the numbers work. Anyway, thanks for your contributions to the articles! — Andy W. (talk/contrb.) 16:11, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] reference closing

The problem was that the reference was not closed with a "/ref". <ref>example</ref> That did indeed break the page more than I would have guessed. Easy to fix. Cheers. DavidRF (talk) 18:03, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
