Veisiejai (pronunciation ) is a city in Lazdijai district municipality, Lithuania. It is 18 km south-east of Lazdijai. The town is named after Veisiejis lake which is 6 km south-west of Veisiejai. Esperanto language was created in Veisiejai where L. L. Zamenhof started his practice as ophtalmologist in 1885. There is St. George church (built in 1817), old estate with park, Veisieju school, kindergarten "Ąžuoliukas", post office (LT-67043), museum, monuments for composer J. Neimontas, esperanto language creator L. L. Zamenhof.

Veisiejai is one of few cities, that are located in lake peninsula. Western part of the city is surrounded by park from XVIII century.

There are many lakes around the city. Biggest of them - Ancia is dividing city into two parts. In the Eastern part there is lake Snaigynas, in the North - Vernijis and Veisiejis in southwestern part.
