Vehicle registration plates of Lithuania

Vehicle registration plates of Lithuania are composed of three letters and three numbers (e.g. ABC 123), The registration plates are coloured black letters on a white background, and are the same size and length as other European plates. All modern Lithuanian plates are issued with the blue EU identification label.

The first Lithuanian registration plates (1991) would have been composed of three letters and three numbers. After Lithuania joined the EU, a small Lithuanian national flag was changed to European flag

Reserved and used by diplomatic corps. Have green background and white letters. The letters grouped 01 3 123 and not have blue sidebar in the left. First two numbers denote embassy code.

Taxicabs, have special plate, with yellow background, with black text. The first letter are "T" (the first letter of taxi) and five numbers

Military transportation has black background and white text registration plates. They do not have side-field, only flag instead.

Registration plate has a special spot in the middle to attach a sticker certifying the compulsory biannual technical inspection to check for compliance with safety/emissions standards.
