[edit] History
VEGAS.com was founded in 1998.[5]
Concierge service expands in cooperation with US Airways in 2006 by adding the service at the US Airways Clubs in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.[6]
In February of 2007, the company won two Adrian silver awards; one for the advertising series "Do Vegas Right" television commercials, the other in public relations for Best Feature Placement and a bronze award for New Campaign Opening for the concierge desk at the Bob Hope Airport.[7]
[edit] Casino Travel & Tours
VEGAS.com, through its Casino Travel & Tours unit, operates retail and concierge desks at more than 50 locations in Las Vegas, including The Palms, Paris, MGM Grand, Bally’s, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, New York-New York, and Luxor casinos. The company also offers city tours and excursions to destinations including the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.
[edit] Technology
In August of 2006, VEGAS.com opened the first ever Vegas airport concierge desk in the Bob Hope Airport (BUR). Staff at the booth utilize VEGAS.com’s Cyllenius System for Concierges, a point-of-sale solution which features the largest collection of Vegas-related products.
Partnering with US Airways, VEGAS.com opened additional airport concierge locations in US Airways Clubs at the Los Angeles International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The concierge system was introduced in both airports in 2006 and is being planned for the London Gatwick Airport in 2007. Additional installations at US Airways Clubs are planned but have not yet been announced.
[edit] The "Arrow" Campaign
The well-known red Vegas arrow is featured in a broadcast campaign that began in March of 2005. Commercials includes four versions, each starting with a regular person on a normal day. Characters hear a buzzing sound and see a large VEGAS.com sign hanging in the sky pointing them toward an object, such as a refrigerator or a small pool. Each character enters the portal and pops out on the other side, emerging in the middle of an outrageous Vegas experience.
VEGAS.com has also re-branded the Las Vegas Trolley Company's vehicles as The VEGAS.com Arrow.[8] Large red signs are mounted on either side of the vehicles, which follow a route that encompasses downtown Las Vegas, the Strip and southern Las Vegas Boulevard. A combination ticket provides an all-day ride on the Arrow and on the Las Vegas Monorail.
