I'm assuming that if all else is true, it just needs to be fleshed out more to make it less of a sales brochure and more of a useful article. I admit that CAD programs are way beyond my ken, but I'm sure that there are CAD people who can help bring a NPOV to the article. Pat Payne 23:25, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi Pat, The Article is quite true. I would have written it in a bit more modest style. However, VectorWorks is indeed a good alternative for AutoCAD that, because of it's huge user base, both legal and illegal, has become a defacto standard. I have been informed that in Japan and New Zealand VectorWorks has already taken over the lead from AutoCAD in numbers of installed (legal) licenses. Regards, Gerard Jonker, April 5 2006

Hi Pat, Gerard- I came upon the listing and saw there was only a one line blurb so I added some info just to round it out a bit. Even though, it *is* the number 1 selling CAD program on the Mac, I removed that line, as that may have dinged Pat's BS meter. It now just says what its former name was, what OS's it runs on, and what the product line is and who the target audience is, all of which is presented in a factual manner. I wholeheartedly agree that it needs to be fleshed out. I have requested internally that it be edited by a technically savvy person who can address it's CAD functionality, BIM capabilities, and advanced 3D modeling abilities, and do so in a non-marketing tone. Also the history of the product development and founder, Richard Diehl, and the subsequent sale of the company to Nemetschek AG is an interesting byline, as well. it does still read more like marketing blurb than useful article.. perhaps culling a lot of it might help actually, I think there is some redundant info in there... alistair
