[edit] Speedy deletion of Basic web page creation
A tag has been placed on Basic web page creation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 02:52, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome
Hello, your recently created article, Basic web page creation, had to be deleted because it did not conform to the policies that define what merits an article. Also, going over your contributions history, I see you probably are not aware of the policies that govern the content here. First and foremost, your entries appear to be like manual entries or a how-to guide, however wikipedia is not a manual, so such entries are likely to be removed. Plus, there are policies that state that one's own opinion cannot be placed here. Everything that you state must be factual (not opinionated) and that too attributed to reliable sources. They must also not be colored from any point of view. Plus, there is the manual of style that defines the presentational guidelines. I encourage you to go through them to have a better grasp of how things work here. Here are a few links that might help:
- Five pillars of wikipedia for policies.
- How to edit an article, you might be familiar with the basics, but still, for a reference.
- Help pages
- Article development, the milestones an article has to go through to be considered amongst the best work in here.
You might want to consider getting adopted, i.e., being guided and mentored by some experienced user to help you outsmart the initial turbulence.
Anyways, welcome to Wikipedia. If you need any help, do not hesitate to contact any user. Just visit their talk pages and leave them a message (I can be contacted at User talk:Soumyasch, click on the + sign at the top of that page to leave a new message; see the talk page guidelines here). Alternatively, put up a {{Template:Helpme}} tag on this page, and ask your question. Someone will respond, sooner rather than later. Happy editing. :) Cya around. --soum (0_o) 03:10, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
