Request for Administratorship

You can find out more about adminship at Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. It's highly unlikely, however, that anyone would be promoted to administrator unless they had been on Wikipedia for long enough and gained enough experience that people could be sure that they would use the administrator tools correctly, so applying for adminship now would be premature. I hope that helps! --ais523 18:30, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

{{helpme}} how do i report somebody using my username?

Don't worry, that user doesn't exist. John Reaves (talk) 13:20, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't think you vandalized the talk page, but you did (probably accidentally) add some random text to another comment (here). The warning is a standard one designed only to make you aware of the issue. The sandbox is a page which you can use to test out the Wiki formatting, add some random text, and try out how things work. How do you mean that somebody is using your username? Does somebody have a similar name, or has somebody stolen your password? If you mean User:Vcolin needs help, then nobody has registered that name ... yet :) --h2g2bob 13:24, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

When i typed user Vcolin needs help it ment that I needed help. And i think my brother stole my password and username.Colin Ventrella 13:35, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Can you try changing your password? Xiner (talk, email) 16:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes

help me with user boxes.

Hi. You can try copying a userbox to your user space and editing it. If you have any specific problems, you can state it here. See also Wikipedia:Templates. Xiner (talk, email) 16:50, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I cant use them on my home site.Colin Ventrella 16:53, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Xiner (talk, email) 23:44, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, why would you want to remove userboxes from other people's pages? If it's especially offensive, I wouldn't consider it. WP:MFD is another option. Xiner (talk, a promise) 14:14, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

How do I put pictures or photos on wikipedia?

The 'Upload file' link in the sidebar will upload an image to Wikipedia, and then you can insert it in an article by following the instructions at Help:Image. However, you have to be careful about copyright when uploading an image. If you've created the image itself, you have to provide a copyright licence when uploading the image that allows anyone to redistribute and modify the image (and some other things too); see commons:Commons:Licencing (on Commons, a free image repository that's a sister site of Wikipedia; consider uploading free use images there instead, as they can still be used on Wikipedia) for information about what licences are allowed for free use images. Copyrighted images (except those which are really only copylefted) are only allowed in some very specific circumstances. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for more information. Hope that helps! --ais523 13:25, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
