Manimooli is a developing town on the way to Vazhikadavu from Nilambur. There is a catholic church, a hospital and a post office . There are banks such as federal bank, state bank of travancore, co-operative bank etc. Before the settlement of families as Vadasseril etc. the serene atmosphere of the region was dominated by the murmuring sound developed from the bamboo trees during the blow of wind, and thus the name occurred for the place. The soil is suspected to have the element gold, but no attempt made so far for the recovery.
