Vazhakulam

Vazhakulam lies east of the town Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district on the Muvattupuzha - Thodupuzha road in Kerala, south India. This town is famous as Pineapple City since most are growing pineapple as well as it is the biggest Asian pineapple market. The majority are Roman Catholic Syrian Christians.
Many Hindu families have also made this place their home. Among the famous Hindu temples in this area are the Lord Subramaniam temple, Vallikkada Bhagavathi temple and Puducherry Kalari Bagvathi temple, all of which are located at Avoli.
This place always get confused with South Vazhakulam, an industrial village town near to Perumbavoor.
