Vaulx-Vraucourt

Vaulx-Vraucourt is a village (population ca. 1,112) in the Nord-Pas de Calais region, department of Pas-de-Calais, arrondissement of Arras, canton of Croisilles, about 3 miles (6 kilometers) northeast of Bapaume, France. The village was the site of heavy fighting during World War I. Major battles occurred in 1917 and 1918. A military cemetery is located in the village, containing graves of soldiers from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
