Vateria indica (Kannada ಧೂಪದ ಮರ)is a species of plant in the Dipterocarpaceae family. It is endemic to India. It is threatened by habitat loss. This tree grows like a palm but has blunt thorns along its trunk.

The resin extracted by scratching the tree's bark is used as a natural incense in India. the [stilbenoids] in resins have been shown to have some anti tumour effects. The resin is used as an Ayurvedic medicine.
