Vasta (Greek: Βάστα), also accented as Vásta, older form: Vastas is a Greek settlement and a municipal district located around 13 km west-northwest (old: 6 km) from Megalopoli as well as it's the nearest interchange with the GR-7/E65 (Kalamata - Megalopoli - Tripoli) or the old road and about 5 km north by road and 2 km directly east of the Messinia prefecture in which the communities bounds by. Vasta is also in the municipality of Megalopoli. Vasta is connected with a road linking the GR-7 west-northwest of Veligotsi and other roads linking with nearby villages with the Messinia prefecture. The Tetrazio mountain lies to the west-northwest as well as its mountaintop.

Vasta is nearly 2 km east-southeast of the mountaintop named Tetrazio, the Pamisos River lies to the south. The geography consists of mountains that dominate the entire area, forests dominate the western, the lower and the northern portions, bushes in the central part and grasslands and rocks within the mountaintop. Farmlands that are mainly groves and pastures with fruits and vegetables and other crops that are located within the village.

The highest recorded population were in the early to mid-20th century, the population has been falling since the mid-20th century, particularly after the two conflicts, the World War II and the Greek Civil War as people went for a better livestyle and jobs elsewhere in Greece and the other parts of the world (mainly North America), its decline has rarely slowed in the late-20th century. The population census between 1991 and 2001 showed a sharp rise by over 50%.

Vasta has a church, and a square (plateia), its nearest school and lyceum (middle school) and gymnasium (secondary school) are in Choremi.
