Vasiliy Vladimirovich Khmelevskiy (Russian: Василий Владимирович Хмелевский) (born 14 January 1948 in the village of Mikolaikovschina, Grodno Oblast, Byelorussian SSR[1]) was a Soviet athlete who competed mainly in the Hammer Throw. He trained at Dynamo in Stavropol, [2] and studied at the Stavropol Pedagogical Institute[1]
Khmelevskiy began athletics in 1963 and became a member of the USSR National Team in 1970.[1] He competed for the USSR in the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany in the hammer throw where he won the bronze medal.
In 1972 Khmelevskiy was awarded the Medal For Labour Heroism.[1]
