Varenne (born in Copparo, Italy in 1995), a Dark Bay racing trotter by Waikiki Beach out of Ialmaz by Zebu.

Widely considered the best trotter in the world of his era, he won 63 of his 74 career starts, with combined earnings of €6,038,408 ($5,651,061). Known as Il Capitano in Italy, his most prestigious victories include the Prix d'Amerique, the Elitloppet and also the Breeders Crown.

One of Varenne's most spectacular races was the $1,000,000 Breeders Crown, where Varenne was parker nearly the whole mile and still won by 4 and 1/2 lengths, in a time being Varenne's fastest of 1:51 1/5. This race included other greatest horses like; Magician, Plesac and Fools Goal. The Breeders Crown field had assembles over $19,000,000 after the race was over.

In Varenne's last 10 starts he averages $82,346.30, winning all ten of those starts except for his last being the Trot Mondial which took place in Canada, Quebec, Montreal. Varenne finished second, but was disqualified to last for leaving the track in the stretch.
