Vantive
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vantive was a CRM company founded in the late 1990s, which was bought by PeopleSoft in 1999, which in turn was bought by Oracle in 2005.
Vantive had multiple versions and verticals of their software, primarily focusing on customer care. Currently, there are many enterprises throughout the world still running Vantive.
Few companies offer limited support for Vantive and Oracle does not support the code base. Since currently no vendor supports Vantive software, few alternatives for companies running Vantive today exist: switch to another CRM vendor, which means a lengthy project or use legacy conversion tools, some of them available for Vantive specifically i.e. Queplix.
The Vantive application was a client-server application using Visual Basic for Applications (non-Microsoft) at the client with stored procedures and shell scripts at the server.
