Vanguard Youth (Vietnamese: Thanh Nien Tien Phong), a youth mass organization launched by the Indochinese Communist Party on July 1, 1942. Vanguard Youth worked as a patriotic, legal organization in the southern part of the country. It was led by Dr. Pham Ngoc Thach. During the summer of 1942 it recruited 200 000 members. Soon it had over a million members in Cochinchina.
