The Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets (SCVC) are a modern DCI Open Class drum and bugle corps. SCVC acts as a "feeder" or "training" corps to the Santa Clara Vanguard, also known as the "A-Corps." The Vanguard Cadets help their members learn the skills necessary to graduate into the Vanguard, and teach many of the same values as the World Class corps.

The Vanguard Cadets travel approximately four weeks during the summer months across the United States and Canada performing in competitive field shows and parades while providing instruction for the novice through experienced members in the areas of brass, percussion and color guard. Membership is primarily open to those between the ages of 12 and 18.

The Vanguard Cadets have been a Drum Corps International Division II Finalist every year they have appeared in DCI World Championships (1991, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007). SCVC won their first and only DCI Division II World Championship title in 2000 with their show, "Journey from the Darkness". The Corps also competed in the DCI Division I Quarterfinals in 1993 and the DCI Division I Semifinals in 2000.
