Vanessa Blue is the stage name of an American pornographic actress and director (born May 27, 1974 in Long Beach, California).[citation needed]
Blue started porn in 1996 doing porn fetish movies. After a year, she took a three-year break, moving to Nebraska to be with her family.[1]
Resuming porn in 2000, Blue has appeared in several films with her former fiancé, porn actor Lexington Steele. Many of her films are gonzo videos that emphasize her behind, such as Black Reign and Black Domina.
Blue is currently the only African American woman to hold performance and directing contracts with both Playboy TV and Hustler Video at the same time. She is also the first African-American woman to win an AVN Award as a director (in January 2005 for "Best Ethnic Series" for her first three titles). She sometimes directs under the pseudonym "Domina X".
With Steele, Blue co-hosted a show on Playboy.com called Lex in the City.
Blue has appeared in several mainstream magazines, including an interview with rapper 50 Cent in Rolling Stone.
In April 2008, Blue took over Ginger Lynn’s spot as co-host of Night Calls Radio on Playboy Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio with former porn star Christy Canyon.[citation needed]
