Vancouver, Coast & Mountains is found in the southwest corner of British Columbia. It is part of the 6 regions which make up British Columbia:

Vancouver, Coast & Mountains is made up of four distinct regions:

  • Greater Vancouver
  • Mighty Fraser Country
  • Sea to Sky Country
  • Sunshine Coast

Greater Vancouver, which has been named one of the world's most beautiful cities, even in the rain, has a balmy west coast climate and gorgeous setting which creates a year-round destination for outdoor activities, such as skiing and golfing, or just experiencing the many outdoor patios. Vancouver is made up of many different and unique areas:

  • Downtown
  • Robson Street - shopping
  • West End - home to English Bay and the entrance to Stanley Park
  • Chinatown - the third largest outside of China
  • Gastown - the historical center of Vancouver
  • Yaletown - the former warehouse district, which has been transformed in the trendy community full of lofts, boutiques, eateries, clubs and pubs
  • False Creek - was home to the 1986 World Fair, and where you can find Granville Island (a must see for tourists and locals)
  • Kitsilano - Also known as West 4th, this area has speciality shops, designer boutiques, amazing restaurants and all found on tree lined streets
  • Commercial Drive - Live entertainment, dining adventures, fresh seasonal produce, funky shops and a distinct energy which makes this area come alive

Vancouver is surrounded by a number of both unique and amazing cities. On the North Shore, you will find West Vancouver, which has some of the most picturesque residential communities, as well as affluent homes in British Properties and Chartwell. North Vancouver, also on the North Shore, offers the access to two differen ski resorts, Grouse Mountain and Mount Seymour. North Vancouver lets you feel like you are in a small town, but still offers the views of the big city.

Also surrounding Vancouver, you have the communities of Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Delta, Tsawwassen, White Rock, Surrey, Ladney, Richmond, Steveston, New Westminster, Horseshoe Bay and Bowen Island.

Mighty Fraser Country, offers the snow-capped mountains which look down onto dairy farms, berry fields, tidy rows of vegetables that stretch across the valley. Farms dot the landscape which is rich in aboriginal and heritage pioneer sites. Recreational opportunities are endless, first off, golf year round, festivals and events, and most off you can enjoy the best of city and country lifestyles.

The communities which make up the Mighty Fraser Country, have formed around the mighty Fraser River. This river lives up to its name, with 200 million gallons (760 million litres) roaring through some parts - Hell's Gate. It is the power of the river which has carried the development of the communities since Simon Fraser first came down the river. The communities found in the Mighty Fraser Country are: Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Mission, Fort Langley, Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Cultus Lake, Agassiz, Harrison Mills, Kent, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope, Yale, Spuzzum, Boston Bar, North Bend and Lytton.
