Vanchi Muthur

Vanchi was the ancient capital of the Chera kingdom. The Chera were one of the ancient Tamil dynasties who ruled South India.

Archeological evidence and presence of Greek and Roman coins recovered by historian Nagaswamy have found Vanchi to be identical with modern Karur.[1]
