Van Stone is a comedy / hard rock band. They have played major tours and festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Bamboozle Fest, New Jersey's Surf and Skate festival and San Diego's Street Scene. They have also opened for Norwegian deathpunk band Turbonegro.
The group's music largely consists of the antics and adventures of the band. The core members are Randy and Lonnie Van Stone who are played by the Dave Sheridan and Travis Draft (the creators of MTV's Buzzkill). Other members of the band include Glenn Wolfe, Mr. Bonze, B.C. Rich, Bert Van Stone, Blackie Sawyer, Cliff Steinberger, Pfc. Kurt Gibson and head roadie Hawk.
In media appearances, Randy and Lonnie Van Stone, as well as Hawk appear in character. They have created an elaborate fictional backstory for the band's history. They've also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1 several times. One time they hosted the station's morning show following the firing of previous host Dicky Barrett in 2006. During that show, Randy and Lonnie Van Stone, as well as roadie Hawk interviewed actor Allan Havey who was there to promote his television program Free Ride on FOX. Despite Dave Sheridan and Travis Draft both being regulars on the TV show, they stayed in character the entire time.
