Talk:Vancouver City Savings Credit Union

[edit] Potential for a great article?
For a variety of reasons known well to those who are familiar with it, VanCity is one of the most interesting institutions in the global credit union system. The sheer scale of its operations is rare, but the diversity of the institutional arrangements it has made to serve market segments that are normally either not served by banks at all, or served very poorly, is its real claim to notability. How many other North American credit unions made presentations about their Vancouver-based microfinance operations at the Global Microcredit Summit in Halifax in 2006? How many have spun off major socially responsible mutual fund companies? VanCity also has a very interesting history, well documented in several books (Ian MacPherson's book Cooperation, Conflict and Consensus as well as a more recent history.Brett epic (talk) 18:49, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Canada's best employers
It says that Vancity is the only credit union in Canada that is in the top 100 employers, but on the Coast Capital Savings page, it says that CCS is one of the top 50 employers in Canada. If CCS is in the top 50, shouldn't it say that Vancity is one of 2 credit unions that are in the top 100, or are the 2 lists completely seperate? Dominiclai06 04:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Logo-vancity.gif
Image:Logo-vancity.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
