Valsad district

Valsad is a district in the Western Indian state of Gujarat. It is bounded by Navsari district to the north, Dang district to the east and the State of Maharashtra to the south. The Arabian Sea lies west of the district.
The district's largest city and administrative capital is Valsad.
The district covers 5,244 square kilometres and is divided into five talukas: Valsad, Pardi, Umargam, Kaparada and Dharampur. Retrieved on 2007-09-03. the total population of the district was 1,410,553, with 27.02% of its residents living in urban areas.
Valsad is well known for its production of mangoes, sapodilla, and teak, and for its chemical industry based on Atul.
