Vals is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land and is located 26 km southeast of Innsbruck in a valley with the same name which is a side valley of the Wipptal. The whole valley belongs to the village; in the south the area borders to Italy.
The name of the location comes from “vallis” which means valley in latin. It has 558 inhabitants.
