Valley View Christian Church is a non-denominational Christian church located in North Dallas, Texas. It is a conservative, evangelical church associated with the Restoration Movement. Its core beliefs are centered in the authority of the Bible.
C. Barry McCarty, the Senior Minister of the church, is a conservative evangelical leader, a past president of Cincinnati Christian University, and the speaker for "The Christian's Hour," the longest-running radio broadcast associated with the Christian churches. Dr. McCarty has also played a key role in the conservative resurgence of the Southern Baptist Convention, serving as the chief parliamentary advisor to the convention presidents since 1986.[1]
U.S. Supreme Court Nominee Harriet Miers was a prominent member who was born again in a full-immersion re-baptism ceremony at the church in 1979. She taught a children's Sunday school class early in her membership.
In September 2006, a Wall Street Journal article on the influence of Rick Warren cited Valley View as one of the American churches that has used Warren's Purpose Driven Life to help them communicate the biblical purposes of the church to the contemporary community in which they minister.[2]
