Valley Park Middle School is a large community school, on the corner of Don Mills Road and Overlea Boulevard, with a tradition of excellence.
Valley Park is a large inner city school serving the communities of Thorncliffe and Flemingdon. The school serves the needs of about 1,300 students representing over 50 language groups with innovative ESL/ESD programs. It offers strong academic programs in the regular subjects and effective academic supports via Special Education, TIME and LEAP programs.
Valley Park's Code of Behaviour clearly communicates to students, parents and staff the expectations related to The Three R's: "Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Reasonable"
Student leadership is encouraged through Student Council, Prefects, House Captains, Positive Student Behaviour Committee and the Moorelands community leadership program.
Valley Park, is proud of its students' accomplishments in contests such as public speaking, Math and its award winning choir. Valley Park continues to be a leader in the area of humanitarianism via participation in the Terry Fox Run, food drives and other humanitarian ventures.
In 2006, the school was awarded the Ontario Human Spirit Award for its efforts in response to Tsunami relief.
In 2004, Valley Park added a new wing and has since added an additional 10 portable classrooms. With over 1,300 students, it is the biggest middle school in Canada.
