Vallavan (2006-may) is a Tamil film directed by Silambarasan. The film starred Silambarasan, Nayantara , Reema Sen, Sandhya , Sathian and Santhanam.The dialogues are written by Balakumaran who is an experienced writer. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. This film hit screens on Diwali 2006.The film released with huge expectations on par with popular actor Ajith's multi starrer Varalaru but couldn't live up to the expectations and failed in the box-office, while varalaru went on to become a block buster It was dubbed into Telugu as Vallaba and released on November 11, 2006.

Reema Sen has recently criticized Silambarasan for favouring Nayantara during film shootings, she has also revealed that the project, Vallavan had stopped her from signing other projects.
