Valery Arshba was the first Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia, a de facto independent republic of the Republic of Georgia. He held that office from 1994 until 2005. Since 2005, Valery Arshba has been the head of the administration of the current Abkhaz President, Sergei Bagapsh.
