Valerian Sergeevich Sokolov (Russian: Валериан Сергеевич Соколов) (born August 30, 1946 in the village of Shikhobylovo, Urmarsky District, Chuvash ASSR) is a former Soviet bantamweight amateur boxer who won the gold medal at the 1968 Summer Games. He trained at Dynamo in Cheboksary. Sokolov became the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR in 1968 and was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1969.[1] During his career he won 196 fights out of 216.[2]
