Valentine is a suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, Australia, located 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Newcastle's central business district along the eastern shoreline of Lake Macquarie near the town of Belmont.
Coal mining was performed at Valentine before it became a suburb in the 1950s. The public school opened in 1958. It is now a large residential district, a development commenced in the late 1980s. Valentine boasts a popular and large bowling club.
