Vale Park is the home of the English Football League club, Port Vale. The club has played at the ground since 1950. It is situated in the Burslem district of Stoke-on-Trent. The stadium holds 18,900 supporters and has four stands: The Bycars End, Lorne Street, The Railway Paddock (Paddock) and Hamil Road End. It was built to be the Wembley of the North[1][2]. Work stopped as the club ran out of money once the pitch was laid[citation needed], resulting in Vale Park currently having the largest pitch in the English football league system.
