Valdotanian Renewal (Renouveau Valdôtain, RV) is a progressive-centrist Italian political party.
It was founded in 2006 by a split from the Valdotanian Union (UV), led by former President of Region Carlo Perrin. Those dissidents wanted closer ties with the Italian centre-left parties of The Union and to continue the original path of UV.
In the 2006 general election, RV was affiliated to the Autonomy Liberty Democracy (ALD) coalition, composed of the Democrats of the Left (DS), Democracy is Freedom – Daisy, Forward Valley, Lively Aosta Valley, the Communist Refoundation Party, the Federation of the Greens and orther minor parties. ALD elected a deputy, Roberto Rolando Nicco (DS), and a senator, Carlo Perrin himself, defeating respectively Marco Viérin (Edelweiss Aosta Valley) and Augusto Rollandin (Valdotanian Union).
In the 2008 regional election Valdotanian Renewal, which formed a joint list with Lively Aosta Valley, won 12.5% of the vote and 5 regional deputies (out of 35), but Autonomy Liberty Democracy was severely defeated by the regionalist coalition.[1]
