Valdes Island

Valdes Island[1] is one of the Gulf Islands located in the Strait of Georgia, British Columbia, Canada. It is across from Polier Pass from Galiano Island. Wakes Cove Provincial Park is located on the island. It is a popular destination for recreational kayaking and camping. It is named for Cayetano Valdés y Flores, who explored the region in 1792.[2]
