Val-Brillant is a municipality in eastern Quebec at the base of the Gaspé peninsula. On the banks of the Matapédia Lake, Val-Brillant is part of the Matapédia Valley. Val-Brillant was established in 1890 by Father Pierre Brillant. It existed previously under many names, such as Cedar Hall.
