Vairengte is a town in the Kolasib district of Mizoram state, India. It is located about 130 km from the state capital Aizawl. It is primarily known for the Counterinsurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), which is considered as one of world's most prestigious anti-terrorist institutions with troops from several countries getting counter-insurgency training. It has played host to visiting military units from the United States, Singapore, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Vairengte had a population of 7687. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Vairengte has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 75%. In Vairengte, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
