[edit] Incense?
The article calls the scene a "ritual sacrifice", but reference #3 (www.spinfo.de) calls it a "Weihrauchopfer" (incense burning ritual). Incense was so expensive then that burning it had sacrificial overtones, even though no animal was sacrificed -- usually. If I had more than just the one German source, I would be happy to reword that part of the description. As it stands now, we don't have any expert opinion on whether this ritual actually involved the sacrifice of any animal. — Aetheling 14:59, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Etymology?
If the goddess is believed to be Celtic or Germanic there must be an etymology attached to the name.--Berig 15:59, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
PS. If the name is nonsensical in both Proto-Germanic and in Gaulish we may be dealing with something even more interesting: a pre-Celtic and pre-Germanic goddess of the old Nordwestblock.--Berig 09:17, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
