Coordinates: vadugam is a panchayat village in Namakkal district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a town 32 km from Salem, in Namakkal district. The town is approximately 333km southwest of Chennai, 242km south of Bangalore and 118 km northwest of Tiruchirapalli (Trichy).

Rasipuram is a historic town dating back to at least the 14th century. Rasipuram got its name from Raajapuram which literally means King's town.Rasipuram is famous for its mouth watering ghee and future deciding education. It is also famous for its Shiva temple constructed by King Valvil Ori. It does hav a secret path from the temple to a nearby hill named Kolli hills, which is famous for medicinal herbal plants.
Kolli hills which is located 35km approx from Rasipuram is a notable place to relax. It does have a waterfall there which seems to be medicated. It is famous for rare species of herbs and the so called saints who are still found roaming and meditating there.

It has a moderate climate but is hot often. The temperature ranges from 20 to 44 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

The main tourist and picnic spot of the Rasipuram is the Parumpalli Falls in the village of Vadugam, which having a wonderful sight of water falling from the height of about 100 feet at three different stages, which is located just 8 km from Rasipuram and its very nice to visit there during rainy season and adding tradition to their religion variety of temples are situated around the town. Mariamman is a Hindu goddess, an incarnation of Shakti. Every year around December the town celebrates Mariamman festival for a fortnight. During this festival, Goddess Mariamman is decorated with jewellery and flower chariots and taken around the city at midnight. This festival will be celebrated for a week.
Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Goddess Angalaparameswari temples are some of the notable temples in the town.

Rasipuram is one of the important and notable town in the field of education. It boasts of having the state-wide famous institution SRV schools which generates state toppers every year. It gets a state rank every year.
The town has also get several other colleges located in it.Muthayammal Institutions, Mahendra Institutions, AMS Engineering college, Dr. Hanemann Homeopathy medical college to name a few are the colleges found here.

The village is situated 12km from Rasipuram with several buses round the clock. Buses are found frequently to Salem, Nammakal, Erode and villages around here. We hav also private omni buses from rasipuram to vadugam daily.
A proposed railway junction is also to be constructed here. The railway tracks are being laid in the town.

As of 2001 India census[2], Rasipuram had a population of 46,370. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Rasipuram has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 66%. In Rasipuram, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
