The Vadim Tikhonov case involves the murder of a hairdresser by her 33-year-old customer, Vadim Tikhonov, in a Siberian barber shop in October 2007. He grabbed a hammer and hit her on the head, then took out his knife and stabbed her 12 times. He complained before his deadly attack that 100 rubles ($4.10) was too much for a haircut.
Tikhonov was arrested in November 2007, a month after the October killing, in the Russian Omsk-region.
