Vaccarèse

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vaccarèse is a red wine grape that is grown primarily in the Rhone Valley and is a permitted blending grape for Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Similar to Muscardin and Aubun the grape is indigenous to this area of France. The grape has similar characteristics to Syrah, producing wines with a peppery and tannic structure. The vine tends to bud late and is sensitive to downy mildew. [1]
